Some doulas feel called to serve mothers and babies, especially families facing greater barriers during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. But getting started alone can feel overwhelming.
Born Again Perinatal may offer a helpful next step for doulas who want to serve in a more supported, Medicaid-focused model while building experience.
Born Again Perinatal is a doula agency that exists to help expand access to compassionate, community-based perinatal doula support for Medicaid families through a model built around organized care, local partnership, and professional, non-clinical support.
This opportunity is reserved for doulas who complete Born Again Academy certification.
Please note:
Completing the course is not the same as becoming BAA certified.
Completing BAA certification does not guarantee work.
Doulas must still apply and be approved.
We are specifically looking for mission-minded individuals who want to serve Medicaid families.
For accepted doulas, serving with Born Again Perinatal may provide:
an opportunity to serve with a broader team
a more supported way to begin working with Medicaid clients
help with some administrative burdens that can be difficult to manage alone
experience working within a structured, real-world service model
Born Again Perinatal is building a model that includes support with:
onboarding
background check processes
documentation systems
workflow support
billing and claims support
This can make the transition into practice feel more manageable, especially for doulas who want support while getting started.
This is not an employee arrangement. Doulas serving through Born Again Perinatal continue to operate independently. That means:
you run your own business
you control your own schedule
you are not forced to accept particular clients
At the same time, you may benefit from serving within a broader support structure that helps reduce some of the complexity of working alone.
Born Again Perinatal is especially focused on serving Medicaid families. This opportunity is best suited for doulas who genuinely want to serve that population.
We are looking for doulas who:
care about families who may have limited support or added barriers
want to serve in a mission-minded way
are willing to work with clients who otherwise may not be able to afford doula care
Born Again Perinatal’s service model is centered on helping Medicaid families receive relationship-based, community-based perinatal support.
It is important to understand the limits of this opportunity:
it is for serving Born Again Perinatal clients
it is not a guarantee of client volume or ongoing work
participation is subject to application, acceptance, and periodic reevaluation
this arrangement should not be understood as covering a doula’s private clients or the full scope of her independent business
For some doulas, this may be a stepping stone into practice. For others, it may be a meaningful season of ministry with added structure and support.
It may be a good fit for someone who:
wants help getting started
does not want to manage every administrative detail alone
wants exposure to Medicaid-focused doula work
values flexibility while serving with a mission-minded team
If you are pursuing BAA certification and feel called to serve Medicaid families in a more supported setting, Born Again Perinatal may be worth exploring.
